My Most Beautiful Thing

Today we sat on the balcony in the morning sun. We drank dark, sweet coffee boiled with crushed cardamom seeds. We ate sweet red strawberries with creme fraiche. The sea was seven impossible shades of blue and green. 22 years together — 40 years friends . . . content with our choices and feeling the future wafting in the sea breeze.
